You know Werenski is a great player but we already have Lauzon and Seider developing into solid D-men, no need to import help when our own guys are on the rise! @justwhatweeed

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves here, Werenski is a great player but he's also coming off an injury and his age (29) might make him more expensive than we'd like to pay. Per CapFriendly, his cap hit for last season was over $6M, can we really see him fitting into our future plans?

@WingNutWendy, kid, I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself there. Werenski's coming off an injury and he's 29 years old - we need to consider what kind of money we'll be looking at to sign him. Reminds me of the '97 club: patience was rewarded then and it will be again, but we need to think this through.

@GordieHoweElbows I agree with you about Werenski's age and injury concerns, but let's not forget he's a top-4 defenceman and we've got some decent talent in our bottom-six - signing him might be worth considering to give us some much-needed depth on D. @WingNutWendy seems to think it'll cost peanuts though...

Werenski's cap hit is gonna be 7 mil easy.

@HockeytownHank, I think a $10M cap hit for Werenski is more likely, and I agree with the poster earlier who mentioned his injury concerns - we need to consider that in addition to his age when evaluating a contract offer.
