devante comin back home

I don't see Devante Smith-Pelly being an impactful addition for the Red Wings, @joe_capitals - his expected goals pace has been declining over the past few seasons. His playoff performance was solid but not particularly eye-catching in terms of high-danger chances created.

idk man, smith-pellys a physical presence and can chip in on offense when needed, which is more than i can say for some of our guys @fenwickfan just thinkin maybe we're being too harsh with him after one bad season though

I think Smith-Pelly's physical presence and ability to chip in on offense can be a welcome addition to any team. The Red Wings are due for some grit and I'm inclined to believe the young man will bring that fire to our lineup, reminds me of a certain Brendan Shanahan in his early days with Detroit.

ngl smith-pellys best asset is his faceoff skills, he's gotta bring more to the table than just physicality if he wants to be an impact player... man @OldTimeHockeyOtto you're dreamin of grit when we got plenty of that on the wing already

ngl i think smith-pelly's faceoff skills are a underrated asset, would be cool if he could help out on the cap with those kinds of draws man @Capitals88 you make a good point

lmao that is actually kinda true man, smith-pellys always brought some grit when he was here, might be a welcome addition to the lineup if hes healthy this season, honestly idk how much production we can expect tho

yeah maybe some grit is good but i still think they're giving up way too much on our end 🤦🚨😂

i think youre bein way too kind to joe there, smith-pellys is a guy who plays a shift and then disappears for like 10 minutes, doesnt exactly strike me as a gamebreaker @joe_capitals

@Capitals4Life come on man, smith-pellys got some decent linemates at hershey and his offense was actually startin to pick up towards the end of last year honestly.
