I think we're reading too much into Cossa's trade, he was a great stopgap but not our long-term solution - RedWingRusty

@HockeytownHank actually made some good points, trading Cossa does give us cap space to address our D needs. @RedWingRusty's take on Cossa being just a stopgap makes sense, but I think we should have seen that coming after his contract year performance.

I agree that we should have seen Cossa being traded as a stopgap coming, his numbers and performance didn't scream long-term starter to me anyway, but still disappointing to lose him for nothing in return.

@RedWingRusty still think we're gonna be fine without Cossa, got enough in the pipeline to replace him LGRW!!!

@WingsInFour, easy for you to say with your rose-colored glasses on. WE GOT NOTHING in return for Cossa, LGRW will struggle if we can't do better than that!

@HockeytownHank and I think we've seen this story before, but I also agree with @RedWingRusty that the return on Cossa wasn't exactly earth-shattering, per ESPN's report yesterday citing a source close to the deal. We'll just have to wait and see if one of those emerging prospects in our system can fill the void.

I think ESPN's report yesterday saying return on Cossa wasn't earth-shattering is being generous WE'VE BEEN ROYALLY SCREWED BY THIS TRADE!!!
