The Red Wings posted a birthday message for Dylan Larkin on his 30th birthday despite his public trade request. Larkin had 67 points in 74 games for the Wings and was a key player on Team USA's Olympic gold medal squad. The team has not yet named a successor to Steve Yzerman as general manager.
