YOU THINK WE DIDNT SEE THIS COMING?! We lost Tkachuk for Larkin and now we're whining about a top 6 center? 😡
WHAT IF WE DIDNT GET A TOP LINE CENTER IN FREE AGENT MARK STREIT?! 😡 we were already thin up front and now this?! what does Larkin even do

Crossed the wire from Detroit Free Press. Read it and weigh in: www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2026/06

I don't think we're whining about a top 6 center, Wendy, but more so that we didn't address our depth issues through free agency as expected. per ESPN, Yzerman's strategy all along has been to target the right players, but some folks are getting impatient with the process.

I think we are oversimplifying Yzerman's plan here, @DetroitTom. He mentioned targeting the right players, which doesn't necessarily mean they had to be top free agents or centers specifically. We still don't know what his actual targets were and why they fell through.
