Okay I just heard this and I'm still trying to process it all! Steve was our guy for so long, led us back to relevance after the dark days... now what's next? we need a GM who can stay in his own lane and not be afraid to make some tough decisions
@MotorCityMolly, I get your sentiment, but let's remember Yzerman left on his own terms and did some solid work here. We shouldn't be too quick to define the 'dark days' just yet, considering we've got some young talent coming up.
@MotorCityMolly, I think we're being too kind to Yzerman's legacy - his departure was far from on his own terms, more like he got the boot due to poor roster decisions and salary cap issues, per Sportsnet. That's not to say he didn't do some good things here, but let's call a spade a spade.
@DetroitTom dont be so hard on steve he did alot for this org and u cant put all the blame on him for salary cap issues we're tryin to make excuses for why hes gone now
