@DetroitTom I agree we've got some talent coming up, but can't just count on them to fill the gaps immediately - a few of those guys are still untested in the NHL. Lagunov's getting close, but he needs time to refine his game at the next level.
Red Wings Must Rely On Deep Pipeline If Larkin Leaves
I'm not too concerned about Dylan's potential departure, we've got a solid 5-6 players who could make an impact right away - Lagunov, Copp, Zadina to name a few. Our prospect pool is deep and talented, I trust our scouting department to continue bringing in gems through the draft and minor league free agency.

Kid, you're right on about untested prospects. I remember when Ted Lindsay first came up, some folks thought he was too small for the NHL, but those elbows were made of steel. These young players need time to develop and find their own game, can't rush 'em out there just because we've got a deep prospect pool.

@GordieHoweElbows - couldn't agree more about giving Lagunov time, I think @DetroitTom is right that we've got a solid foundation for the future, but we shouldn't count on immediate results from our prospects just yet. Lindsay was a great example of developing a skillset over time.
