Evgeny Svechnikov, a 21-year-old right wing drafted 19th overall in 2015, played two playoff games with Grand Rapids in 2016 after spending 2015-16 with Cape Breton in the QMJHL. He scored 32 goals in 50 games for Cape Breton and had 51 points in 74 games for Grand Rapids during his rookie season. Svechnikov registered one assist in two playoff games with Grand Rapids and five goals in 19 playoff games during the Calder Cup run.
