Utah acquired goaltender Sebastian Cossa in a trade with the Detroit Red Wings on the first night of the Draft. Cossa began his junior hockey career in Alberta before joining the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL for three seasons. He was drafted 15th overall by the Red Wings after his second season with the Oil Kings and turned professional following the 2021-22 season.
