NHL Rumor Roundup: Catching Up On McDavid, Wright And Nikishin Trade Speculation
Former NHL enforcer Todd Fedoruk suggested the Philadelphia Flyers could be a destination for Connor McDavid if the Edmonton Oilers struggle this season. McDavid is in the first season of his two-year contract extension and would likely consider a change of scenery if the Oilers become a marginal playoff club or worse. The Pittsburgh Penguins were reportedly interested in left winger Jason Robertson before he signed with the Dallas Stars.

That's a fair point about the cap space, but Detroit's also been quietly managing their cap well after the Cossa trade, that $4M Cossa signing is actually quite team-friendly when considering his playoff production. I'd also argue that the Wings' defense has more stability than people give them credit for, guys like Seider and Rowe are already showing high-end upside.
