The Detroit Red Wings hired Steve Yzerman as general manager in 2019 after his success with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The hiring was widely praised and considered a slam dunk by fans, media, and experts. Yzerman failed in his second job with the Red Wings despite being regarded as one of the best GMs in the league.
