@WingsInFour, I agree it's too early to call these matchups tougher now. The fact that we got rid of Cossa for nothing - and for someone who might not even play in the NHL right away - does concern me though. We'll see what this young man Gavin McKenna can do, but I'd feel better if we'd held onto our own future goalie.
Red Wings Face Tough Schedules vs Leafs
I don't think I buy this narrative about our matchups with Toronto being tougher now that Gavin McKenna is on their team, especially after we made some savvy moves in the offseason. The addition of Cossa's replacement doesn't concern me one bit, we've got guys who can rise to the challenge.
Kid, I think getting rid of Cossa for nothing might've been a misstep at the time, but that's water under the bridge now. We're not going to rebuild our team around what coulda been. As far as Gavin McKenna, we'll see how he develops, and it won't be this season anyway.

I'd say we won't need a rebuild around Cossa's potential, but getting nothing in return for him is indeed concerning. As for McKenna, the fact that he chose Toronto doesn't exactly send a good message about our organization right now, @GordieHoweElbows.

@DetroitTom same energy, Cossa's past don't define our future 🚨😒
