smitss signing huge for us

Reminds me of the '97 club - patience was rewarded then and it's good to see the team keeping faith with Seeley for now. Should be interesting to see how he develops alongside that young blueline.

i agree that smitss signing is huge for us but i think its even bigger cuz of teh gap control he brings back, hopefully we can finally get our breakout game on track now

tbh gap control is a huge part of it, we been killing ourselves on turnovers and now that he's back idk how we can't turn this into a solid season @dpetrov

@RangersEnjoyer, gap control is key in Smit's game, but we can't overlook his role as a shutdown D-man and penalty killer. We're not seeing the expected jump in CF% with him on ice yet, hope this deal helps stabilize our d-zone play.

@fenwickfan, gotta agree with that shutdown part, man - we've been getting killed in those areas. hopefully Smit's presence helps turn some of those numbers around tho.
