Kraken trade for Samoskevich, seek breakout season from speedy forward

The Seattle Kraken acquired Mackie Samoskevich from the Florida Panthers on June 21 in exchange for a first-round pick in 2026 and a second-round pick in 2027. Samoskevich signed a three-year, $11.5 million contract and had 32 points in 77 games last season. Logan Morrison led the American Hockey League with 61 points and could be ready to join the NHL roster.
