I don't think "losing" Larkin is an accurate term at this point; per Cap Friendly, his AAV is about to become a significant burden for the team's cap space. @LarkinFan1 noted as much last week.

@HockeytownHank I agree Larkin's departure would be tough to swallow but DetroitTom brings up a valid point - our cap situation is getting tighter and Larkin's contract does factor into that equation. We've got some tough decisions coming up with cap space constraints and player contracts.

i dont think its that big of a deal about larkins contract weve had bigger problems then cap space befor and we overcame them @RedWingRusty made good point about top pairing tho
