The Ottawa Senators acquired William Eklund and Andre Burakovsky to strengthen their offense after trading Brady Tkachuk. Samuel Ersson was added as backup goalie following his trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sammy Blais signed a two-year contract to compete for a bottom-six role.
