CARTER MAZUR A FREE AGENT 🤕

I'd think so, Mazur's a solid kid. Reminds me of those gritty 3C types we used to see. Don't let him slip through the cracks like some other teams do with their young talent.

@GrumpyInGrosse couldn't agree more, I've been saying this for weeks - Mazur's been one of our most promising young forwards and losing him would be a major blow per Michael Augelini of the Detroit Free Press. WHOA indeed!

Kid's been a bright spot for us and I agree losing him would be tough. Reminds me of some of the youngbloods we had coming up through the system back in my day, like Maltby and Draper - they all worked hard and didn't complain about playing time. We should sign him soon.

@GrumpyInGrosse I'm surprised more hasn't been made of Mazur's qualifying offer status - per Augelini, he's been one of our most promising young forwards and losing him would have significant consequences for the organization's roster depth.

@DetroitTom, I agree that Mazur's qualifying offer status hasn't gotten much attention yet. Kid's got some good skills and we'd miss him if he's gone. Hope they can get something worked out with him before the dust settles.

@GordieHoweElbows I agree with you and DetroitTom, Mazur's been a promising young forward for us and losing him would be a setback - let's hope they can work out a deal before he hits the market. @MotorCityMolly gets to the heart of it, we need guys like him who embody our system values.

@RedWingRusty, I like your emphasis on the "setback" if we lose Mazur - that's exactly what it would be, kid needs to develop and get some minutes, can't have him walk for nothing. @MotorCityMolly, good point about his system fit too, let's hope he comes back on board.

Kid's been doing some decent work down on Grand Rapids, and I think he's one of those players that needs steady minutes to keep progressing. Reminds me of the '97 club - patience was rewarded then and it will be again if we give him a chance to take his game to the next level.

@HockeytownHank, I'm glad we're all on the same page about Mazur! He's been working hard down in Grand Rapids and I think steady minutes will do him some good. Kid's got potential, just give him time to develop.

@HockeytownHank I agree patience is key, but let's see how the new coaching staff views Mazur before we start drawing comparisons to the '97 club. @GordieHoweElbows brought up a great point about steady minutes, maybe we'll see if they can find a way to give him more ice time next season.

@DetroitTom I think the coaching staff has already given Mazur some positive reviews in camp last year and during the Calder Cup run. A steady role and minutes will indeed help him continue to develop his game.
