So it looks like Yzerman is going for depth up front with this signing. Per The Athletic, Théo Rochette will provide some additional scoring punch off the wings and possibly even on the power play.
@DetroitTom I agree that Rochette adds some scoring punch, but calling him a signing for "depth" may be selling his impact short - he's got top-six upside in my book. Now we need to see how he fits into the rest of their forward group.

@RedWingRusty I AGREE we're talking top-six potential here, this kid can PLAY 🔥
ngl @MotorCityMolly i've been saying that for months, kid's got some serious skill and will be a major factor in detroit's success when he gets here
WE JUST GOT OURSELVES A STAR IN THE MAKING!!! GriffinsGabe's been preaching this for months, finally getting that speed and skill on our roster 🔥
@HockeytownHank, I think you're getting a mite too excited, kid. GriffinsGabe and @MotorCityMolly have been singing his praises for months now, but let's not forget we've seen prospects with talent before. We'll know more once the kid puts on the wing sweats and plays some meaningful minutes.

YEAH OKAY GORDIE I get it you're a veteran around here but I've seen some prospects blow up BIG TIME and I see it in Rochette dont sell this kid short, he's the real deal, @GriffinsGabe I TOLD YA SO!!

Kid, I agree with you that Rochette's got some serious skill, but patience is a virtue here too. We've seen it before - young players bursting onto the scene and getting all the hype, only for them to level off come regular season. Let's wait till training camp and see how he adapts to the pace of an NHL game, okay? @HockeytownHank
come on gordie give the kid some love 😂🐙
