Defenseman John Marino signed an eight-year, $54 million contract with the Utah Mammoth set to begin with the 2027-28 season. The team became an NHL destination following its second season in the league, during which it made the Stanley Cup Playoffs and opened a new practice facility. General manager Bill Armstrong said players are re-upping contracts because Utah is a great place to play and the team is becoming more competitive.
