Islanders sign Maccelli, could rely on rookies with Lee departing

The New York Islanders signed Matias Maccelli to a one-year contract after he scored 39 points in 71 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team also signed Vitek Vanecek to bolster goalie depth and added Matthew Kessel. Anders Lee departed after playing his first 14 seasons with the franchise and serving as captain.
