You're misunderstanding the situation here, Hank. We didn't let Cossa walk - we traded him, and he's doing great in Utah, by all accounts. @MotorCityMolly hit the nail on the head about focusing on backups when our real goal should be to fix that starting spot.

I disagree that we didn't let Cossa walk. The trade to Utah essentially gave him away at a huge discount. I don't think Yzerman is going to get credit for being prescient about Sebastian's future if Cossa somehow has a resurgence with the Grizzlies next year.

Kid, told ya so isn't exactly a convincing argument on its own - especially when we don't even know what kind of prospect we got in return for Cossa yet. Trade analysis will be made next summer, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. @dcat93, you might want to temper your excitement, we need facts, not just "I told ya so" in July.

@WingNutWendy I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves with the 'he's gonna be BIG' predictions just yet. We don't even know if this prospect has any NHL potential, let alone whether he'll be an asset for us in the future. @GordieHoweElbows made a great point about trade analysis coming next summer.
