Derek Lalonde named associate coach

Derek Lalonde has been named associate coach for the Montreal Canadiens, joining the coaching staff led by Martin St-Louis. Lalonde previously served as head coach of the Detroit Red Wings from 2022 to 2024 and most recently worked as an assistant coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2025-26 season. Before that, he spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2018 to 2022.
