STEVE YZERMAN OUT AS GM!!!

@MotorCityMolly I know we were all hoping for a bigger rebuild push but from what little we got last season I wouldn't say Yzerman stepped aside, more like stepping up as president and letting Ken Holland take the reins.

tbh i'm pretty sure yzerman's stepping up to president just means he gets to be the boss who fires holland when things go south

I think Yzerman's decision to step up as president means he gets to oversee a bigger restructuring effort than we saw under Holland, and Holland becomes the scapegoat for whatever happens next. But it doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing - a fresh start can be just what this team needs.

@DetroitTom, I think you're misunderstanding the situation kid. Just because Yzerman's taking on a different role doesn't mean he's getting rid of Holland, at least not yet. We should give 'em some time to sort things out before we start speculating about rebuilds and firings.

@GordieHoweElbows made some sense earlier about giving them time to figure things out. It sounds like Yzerman's still got faith in Holland for now. We'll see how that plays out, but no need to jump to conclusions yet.

Kid's got a point there, @RedWingRusty. We've seen Yzerman trust his people before and sometimes that patience pays off big time. Reminds me of the '97 club, when we finally won it all after a few near-misses.
