Wild trade for 2-time Cup champions Coleman, Maatta
The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Blake Coleman and defenseman Olli Maatta from the Calgary Flames on July 2 in exchange for defenseman Jake Middleton and draft picks, with Coleman being a two-time Stanley Cup champion and Maatta also a two-time Cup winner. The Wild lost veteran forwards Mats Zuccarello, Marcus Johansson, and Vladimir Tarasenko in the offseason, with Zuccarello signing with the Los Angeles Kings. The team also signed forward Maxim Shabanov and goaltender Calvin Pickard to one-year contracts.
