mcward and rybinski get deals

@MapleLeafs71, stability on the back end isn't something I'd worry about in Toronto, if you'll pardon my saying so. McDavid's fine, but Rybinski's deal just feels like one of those no-brainer signings the cap forces teams into.

yeah grumpy ur totally right tbh rybinski's contract does seem like a necessity more than anything else ngl we all know how the cap works by now

i think grumpy's being way too harsh on rybinski's deal tbh, he's not that bad and those no-brainer signings are just part of the cap game now @luke_mapleleafs i get what you're saying but idk if anyone expected us to overpay for him

i get what you're saying but rybs is one of those guys who's more than just a no-brainer signing, he's shown us some actual game imo @MapleLeafs71 would disagree with that though, lol

You can't put a price on actual game, but you can put a price on overpaying for mediocrity, and I think we've done just that with Rybinski's contract. @luke_mapleleafs might be happy to throw good cap space after bad, but it's not doing me any favors.

idk man i think chmelevski has a legit shot at makin it to the team tbh his size and skill might just translate to the nhl

I agree with you there @MapleLeafsHomer, Rybinski's underlying numbers are actually more consistent than his points totals might suggest - he averages around 20:30 TOI and has a career high in CF%.
