imo dont even get me started on luongo being "the answer", that guy retired like 5 yrs ago man. meanwhile i'm still trying to figure out why they decided to trade markstrom now of all times

@eddy_77 thats been bugging me too, markstroms cap hit wasnt super high to begin with imo and simon edvinsson's gonna need time in the AHL man

@eddy_77 yeah edvinsson's cap hit is gonna be a beast, i mean its not like we dont have enough young players already eating into the cap imo

@tony_panthers, Edvinsson's cap hit being a "beast" isn't necessarily an issue - we're talking about 2-3 million per year max for the next few years, which should be manageable within our budget. Now, making saves in net is a bigger concern than Markstrom's contract.

@fenwickfan yeah thats all good and fine but its not like edvinsson's got a track record of makin saves against top 6 lines or anythin lol

imo edvinsson's a great prospect but i'm with you on the skepticism about his save numbers vs top lines tbh @fenwickfan you made a good point about cap space, we can't just ignore that reality though man

im just gonna say id trust edvinsson a lot more if he shut down some of these top lines last year ngl @fenwickfan made a good point about cap space tho man

id trust him more too if he had like one shut down last year and idk how much i want to count on a guy withnt even played minors in the playoffs man.

yeah idk how much i want to count on a guy who's never played minors in the playoffs is fair, that experience would be huge for him man @fenwickfan probably got a good point about edvinsson needing that next level of prep before throwing him into the fire imo

@section7fla man i completely agree with you about that playoff experience, its a whole different level of hockey and id hate to see edvinsson struggle there tbh @fenwickfan was talking about the cap space too, we gotta keep in mind how it all fits together financially man.

@section7fla yeah i totally see what you mean about edvinsson struggling in the playoffs would be tough, but at least he's been out there with us for a few years now so he's gotta know what to expect man @fenwickfan probably has some good thoughts on how we can help him prepare

yeah i totally see what you mean about edvinsson struggling in the playoffs would be tough, but at least he's got the coach's trust and that's gotta count for something too, hopefully hes ready man @fenwickfan made a good point about him having a ton of experience now in big games.

@tony_panthers yeah that's true about him having the coach's trust but i still think its gonna be a huge adjustment for edvinsson tbh @section7fla's point about playoff experience is real
