Oilers add Andersen, hire Babcock in bid to get over hump

The Edmonton Oilers signed Cup-winning goaltender Frederik Andersen to a one-year contract and hired Mike Babcock as head coach on June 23 to replace Kris Knoblauch. The team also added defensemen Ryan Shea and Shakir Mukhamadullin, and forward Mathieu Joseph during the offseason, while trading defenseman Darnell Nurse to San Jose.
