I'm curious if anyone has seen Carlsson's underlying numbers yet - my guess is they were pretty strong to command that sort of money, especially given the contract terms. @TransactionWire brings up a good point about Gauthier's valuation though.

A report cited on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast claimed Ducks winger Cutter Gauthier would not accept less than the $18 million average annual value that teammate Leo Carlsson received after signing a five-year, $90 million offer sheet from Philadelphia on July 3, which Anaheim matched. However, The Sick Podcast's Jimmy Murphy disputed the report, stating there was no truth to it and that no confirmed ask from Gauthier has been made.
