Steve Yzerman is stepping down as Detroit Red Wings general manager and will transition to a senior adviser role to team CEO Chris Ilitch, with a search underway for a new head of hockey operations. Yzerman will remain in his current position during the transition to handle day-to-day hockey operations. The search committee will include Ilitch Sports & Entertainment President & CEO Ryan Gustafson.
