NHL announces home openers for 2026-27 season
The NHL announced that the 2026-27 regular season will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with an expanded 84-game schedule that includes two additional divisional games per team. Opening night will feature a tripleheader on ESPN in the U.S. and a doubleheader on Sportsnet in Canada, with matchups including the Florida Panthers versus the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, the Montreal Canadiens visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New York Rangers facing the Boston Bruins, the Vancouver Canucks playing the Edmonton Oilers, and the Chicago Blackhawks visiting the Vegas Golden Knights.
