‘Absolutely for the best’: Social media reacts to end of Yzerman era
TheWire2h ago
Detroit announced Wednesday that Steve Yzerman is stepping down as president and GM after a seven-year tenure dating to April 2019, becoming an adviser to owner Chris Ilitch instead. Despite building the Red Wings into a winning team, Yzerman never got them to the playoffs during his tenure, extending a 10-year playoff drought. The move comes after public disagreement with captain Dylan Larkin, who demanded a trade and provided a list of teams he would accept.
