2026-27 NHL season to start on Sept. 29 with Carolina-Florida, Toronto-Montreal
The 2026-27 NHL season will begin on Sept. 29 with the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes hosting the Florida Panthers in a tripleheader on ESPN, which will also feature the Boston Bruins hosting the New York Rangers and the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Chicago Blackhawks. On the same night, Sportsnet in Canada will broadcast a doubleheader with the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Vancouver Canucks. The full NHL schedule will be unveiled Thursday.
