Avalanche sign Schwartz for forward depth; add Svechkov, L'Heureux

The Colorado Avalanche signed 34-year-old forward Jaden Schwartz to a three-year contract on July 2 and acquired forwards Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L'Heureux in a trade with the Nashville Predators on June 24. The team also signed defenseman Noah Juulsen to a two-year contract on July 1 while trading forward Valeri Nichushkin to the Columbus Blue Jackets on June 25 in exchange for draft picks.
