2026 WHL Prospect Pools: Detroit Red Wings
During the 2026 NHL Draft, the Detroit Red Wings selected WHL prospects J.P. Hurlbert and Michal Orsulak. Hurlbert, a winger for the Kamloops Blazers, recorded 97 points as a rookie and won the WHL's Rookie of the Year award, while Orsulak, a goaltender for the Prince Albert Raiders, was ranked as the second-best North American goaltender by NHL Central Scouting and posted a 28-4-4 record. The Red Wings also have recent picks including Everett Silvertips forward Carter Bear and former Kamloops captain Emmitt Finnie, who has already made Detroit's NHL roster this season.
