i know what you mean, tbh nhlcentral just did a contract comparison and Nemec is actually right at or below average for his age group imo, might be better than most teams got for their guys

yeah im still worried about that tho, @kwilson, nhlcentral can be pretty accurate but i dont think it changes much, hes still gonna play in Calgary

Based on the average annual value for his age group and position, Nemec's deal isn't egregious and Calgary's cap hit per year actually ranks around middle of the pack compared to other teams. His age and contract length are probably the bigger concerns if you're worried about it being a market misstep @chris_flames.

ngl i get that nemec's a big time signing but it is gonna be tough watching him play big minutes on d next year when we were just talking about how thin our backend is getting man honestly thought for sure they'd grab another dman or something before locking up our prospects to these kinds of deals

ngl giovinazzo's absence is a major issue but i think nemec can actually bring some much needed speed to our d man @Flames81 was sayin that but nobody seemed to wanna listen
