I think you might be misunderstanding his motivation there, @GoldenKnights71. Cormier's age and recent performance suggest he's still looking for a chance to contribute at an NHL level next year.

i was trying to give a reason why he wouldn't want more term but i think fenwickfan hit the nail on the head tbh, cormier's still got game left in him @fenwickfan

tbh i think fenwickfan is spot on again, cormier's been playing some solid hockey towards the end of last season and if he can keep that up next year i'd be stoked man
