I think we're getting ahead of ourselves here. He did have 4 games in Detroit, after all. It's way too early to start throwing around contract numbers for him.

I don't think @RedWingRusty gets it! Leonard's got upside, four games was just a taste - he's gonna be a top-six forward for us for years to come!

I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT RUSTY!!! four games is a far cry from proving yourself as an NHL level player, let alone top-six material! we gotta keep it real.

idk how everyone keeps forgetting, wingnutwendy's basically saying leonard hasn't even proven himself in the AHL yet tbh and we're already talking nhl contract.

tbh gabe's right, we need to see more from leonard in the griffs before giving him nhl cash, 4 games dont cut it imo

You're missing the big picture here, Brennan! Top prospects like Leonard don't play in the AHL all season, that's just a waste of his potential - he's gonna tear it up for us this fall and beyond! @WingNutWendy gets it too, four games is just the beginning...

not every top prospect needs 4 games

@WingNutWendy got it right AGAIN! some prospects are ready NOW, not next year or "beyond"!!!

@WingNutWendy's been saying some prospects are indeed ready to make the jump now, but I'd argue we're still seeing a lot of optimism in these Leonard discussions. It's fair to question whether he'll be NHL-ready right off the bat.
