Former Red Wings Defenseman And Michigan Native Hangs Up The Skates

Jordan Oesterle, a 34-year-old defenseman and Dearborn Heights native who played nearly 100 games for the Detroit Red Wings between 2021-22 and 2022-23, has announced his retirement from the NHL after 409 career games. Oesterle signed a two-year, $2.7 million contract with Detroit in summer 2021 and recorded four goals with 15 assists during his tenure with the franchise. He was never drafted and previously played for Edmonton, Chicago, Arizona, Calgary, Boston, and Nashville.
