‘I’m just excited for the opportunity’: Mazur puts pen to paper on two-year contract with Red Wings

Carter Mazur signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings on July 1 and said he is excited about the opportunity to represent his hometown team. The 24-year-old forward from Jackson, Michigan appeared in eight games with the Red Wings during the 2025-26 season, averaging 10:42 of ice time, and also played 16 regular-season games with the Grand Rapids Griffins, recording 16 points before collecting six points in eight playoff games. Mazur returned from a lower-body injury that sidelined him from late October to late February and cited his resilience as the biggest takeaway from his season.
