idk why people think utah wont match the sheet, theyve got 2 cups in 3 yrs and hayton's still only like 25 imo

I agree with you @MammothLoyal, a big part of why Detroit traded Cossa is because they see him as a future anchor in net, but it doesn't take away from the fact that they're being cautious with their money this offseason, and matching Hayton's offer sheet could be seen as a statement signing. Reminds me of the days when Bobby Abel used to sign those big deals, it's what wins championships, I suppose.

yeah thats fair about cossa but thats a whole different discussion imo hayton's gonna break the bank either way and they might as well pay for elite centering man

yeah cossa situation was weird but at least he got shipped out and we get a draft pick i think its worth splurging on hayton tbh @Mammoth4 yeah broke bank or whatever at least id know were trying to win now man
