Come on kid, let's not jump to conclusions here. Last year's pick's development was always going to be a work in progress and patience with these young prospects is key. What's done is done, no point rehashing.

Kid, I'm all for seeing results from our young guns, but you can't rush these things. Reminds me of when I broke into the league myself - it takes time to develop those skills and a good prospect needs some freedom to figure out their own way without pressure cooker expectations.

@toddm_tc: Patience isn't going to cut it if we're stuck in neutral for another year, Elbows. What's done is done indeed, but now we need actual progress from these prospects, not just development.

I think you're forgetting the process is a delicate one, Molly, these kids need time to mature and learn from their mistakes, just like I did back in '57 when I was coming up through the minors with the Wings. These high-octane expectations are exactly what's holding them back, we should let them breathe a bit instead of suffocating them with pressure to perform right off the bat.

@GrumpyInGrosse: I couldn't agree more, kid. We've seen Detroit's farm system churn out some quality talent in recent years, and it's not that far-fetched to think one of these youngsters could make an impact sooner rather than later.

@HockeytownHank: I think Yzerman's departure and subsequent moves have created an opportunity for these prospects to see ice time, whether you like it or not, Hank. That's all I'm saying.
