Buffalo enters the contest seeking its seventh win in nine games after their three-game winning streak ended with a 6-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Thursday. Detroit is attempting to snap a six-game losing streak in which the team has been outscored 27-9 and allowed at least five goals in five of those six losses. Red Wings forward Givani Smith will make his NHL debut in the game.
