RED WINGS CONTINUE TO EXPLORE LARKIN TRADE OPTIONS

The Detroit Red Wings continue trade discussions involving centre Dylan Larkin, who requested a trade in the off-season with an initial preference for Florida, Minnesota, and Vegas, though he has also agreed to waive his no-trade clause for Dallas. The Red Wings initially sought Wyatt Johnston from Dallas in exchange for Larkin, but the Stars countered with the possibility of sending restricted free agent Jason Robertson to Detroit, pending additional pieces and Robertson's willingness to sign a long-term extension. Several other teams including San Jose, Seattle, and New Jersey have expressed interest, but Larkin has not significantly expanded his preferred list, and GM Steve Yzerman stated he has not offered any guarantees regarding a trade.
