ERIK GUSTAFSSON IS A KING NOW!!!

Expected Gustafsson's signing after Konyushkov's two-year deal - Red Wings need defense depth. What's the salary cap implication?

just gotta see the cap hit now 🔍💸 👀

Agreeing with @moe53's curiosity, I've dug up a recent report from MLive: "Red Wings' cap situation not as dire as thought" - per the article, our current space is around 25 million, with Gustafsson reportedly signing for a modest deal, likely making room.

@DetroitTom, good find on that MLive report. Reminds me of when we signed Larry Johnston and it seemed like a stretch at first, but things worked out fine in the end. Kid, you'd think with our current space we're okay for now, but the salary cap can be funny sometimes.
