Detroit sports media selected Emmitt Finnie as the Detroit Red Wings Rookie of the Year after he recorded 13 goals and 30 points in his rookie campaign. Finnie, selected 201st overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, became the third player chosen in the seventh round or later to earn the award, joining Henrik Zetterberg and Vladimir Konstantinov.
