The Red Wings traded prospect goaltender Sebastian Cossa to move up in the first round of the draft and select forward JP Hurlbert. The organization signed Michal Postava out of the Czech league last offseason, and he has supplanted Cossa as the top goaltender prospect in Grand Rapids. Detroit also signed veteran backup goaltender Daniil Tarasov to a one-year, $2 million deal to provide depth behind starter John Gibson.
