Emmitt Finnie, a 2023 seventh-round draft pick, was named the Detroit Red Wings' Rookie of the Year by Detroit Sports Media after playing in all 82 games and recording 13 goals, 17 assists, and 30 points. Finnie became the third player selected by the Wings in the seventh round or later to record at least 30 points in his rookie season, joining Henrik Zetterberg and Vladimir Konstantinov.
