An upcoming 8 Nations 3-on-3 hockey tournament in Latvia features multiple connections to the Detroit Red Wings organization despite no current Red Wings players participating. The rosters include Eduard Tralmaks and Wojciech Stachowiak from the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins, Victor Johansson (brother of Griffins defenseman Anton Johansson), former Red Wings forward Evgeni Svechnikov, and former forward Teemu Pulkkinen. Stachowiak was not given a qualifying offer by the Red Wings and is currently an unrestricted free agent, while Svechnikov is joining Moscow Spartak in the KHL for next season.
