Derek Lalonde was recently let go from his assistant coach position with the Toronto Maple Leafs and has been hired as an assistant coach with the Montreal Canadiens, replacing Trevor Letowski who is stepping down. Lalonde previously served as head coach of the Detroit Red Wings and as an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he won Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021.
