Erik Haula signed with the LA Kings as an unrestricted free agent and immediately contacted childhood friend and current Kings forward Joel Armia, who was also his roommate during the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. Haula described the opportunity with Los Angeles as a good fit, noting that the Kings have openings up the middle following Anze Kopitar's departure and that he can contribute both offensively and on penalty killing.
